On July 13, Madison left for Europe on a youth hostel budget, visiting Cambridge, Scotland, Barcelona, and Amsterdam. She earned it. What's absolutely amazing: less than a year ago the family was back in Boston, again, with Madi facing post-surgery Proton Beam Radiation, concurrent with chemotherapy that continued through October.
Heartfelt thanks you for your love and support!
This summer Madison spent a week in Boulder with her friend Erin, another week in Lincoln Nebraska with family friends Dale, Colleen, Brannon, and Alex's at their lake house, and another week as a camp counselor paying-it-forward at XMO, an extreme mobility camp for visually impaired (most were completely blind). Over the five days they waterboarded behind a boat, hiked, went to a water park, surfed, and raced go-carts... yes, the blind too with earbuds as counselor guided them with walkies-talkies. Dads impression of her impression of the experience... among the best in her life.
Self-labeled unemployed college dropout, Madison finished her first semester at Moorpark, straight A's. Given she was hospitalized 14 weeks in 2014 enduring all that she did, a decision was made for her to stay busy this summer... and it was unanimous.
