As promised, pictures from the Cancer Support Community (CSC) Fundraiser/Gala last Friday. This was their 25th year anniversary...and note all services to friends and family are no-charge thanks to the generosity of sponsors such as Amgen, Dole, The Dipaola Foundation, and many others! Our family is forever changed because of the services and support that the CSC provides. Happy 25th anniversary to the CSC, with 25 more to come!
"Things seem slightly better" to quote Madison. She's a far cry from having her feeding tube removed but even 'slightly' in front of the word 'better' is easier to swallow that the-same or worse... pun intended.
She has another barium swallow study scheduled next Tuesday the 10th, and I'll post updates on that. Confidence seems high that electric/electrode stimulation may help, but there are a couple of bottlenecks: She has metal in her neck that might not position her as a candidate, but she's going down that path now working with a local expert. Another challenge is our insurance carrier doesn't offer that treatment. Yet, so we'll have to position them for an out-of-network referral. Tonight we're attending a fundraising gala to support the Cancer Support Community, an outstanding organization that provides support to people impacted by cancer... patients, family, and friends. Last year Madison was featured as a Survivor Story at the following link. https://cancersupportvvsb.wordpress.com/2015/01/09/survivor-story-madison-jones/ We'll post some pictures this weekend!
